Hi, I’m Qiao, originally from Shanghai. I’m a qualified, professional Mandarin teacher who is self-motivated and creative, with 12 years of experience teaching Mandarin in China, Australia, and England. I hold a Master’s degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of Nottingham.

My passion is teaching Mandarin in a way that’s fun, easy, and practical, keeping students engaged and motivated to reach their language goals. I love helping learners explore fascinating aspects of ancient Chinese culture, food, travel, and writing. My teaching draws on various methods such as Communicative Language Teaching, Task-Based Language Learning, and The Natural Approach.

I find teaching Mandarin incredibly rewarding. Watching my students progress, achieve their goals, and adapt their life in China is the best part of my job. I’m patient, easy-going, and open-minded. Outside of teaching, I enjoy exploring diverse cultures and their differences, cooking, traveling, watching inspirational films, gardening, listening to music, Latin dancing, cycling, playing badminton, visiting theatres, and admiring arts and architecture.
